What is Bikeability Level 1&2

Level 1 & 2 combined course (Age 10+) Level 2 teaches children how to grow more confident with each turn of the pedal. Our expert instructors will lead riders onto quiet roads, to experience “real” cycling.

Bikeability Level 1& 2 teaches you to:

• Start and stop with more confidence
• Pass stationary vehicles parked on a road
• Understand the road: signals, signs and road markings
• Negotiate the road: including quiet junctions, crossroads and roundabouts
• Share the road with other vehicles

The course involves core skills and riding over the two day course, make sure the rider brings a snack, a drink and is wearing comfortable clothing and footwear. If it is cold, gloves are recommended (nothing worse than having cold hands when out riding). It is important to be concentrating on the training and not be distracted by being uncomfortable, hungry or thirsty.

 Whether you’re planning to cycle to school, ride alone to a club or explore with your family, Level 2 is the answer. It will prepare you to travel independently.
